The F-14 is THE air superiority
fighter of the world! It defends the
Naval Battlegroup and the nation
as no other aircraft ever has.
With its ability to carry 6 Phoenix missiles,
with over 100 miles range, the Tomcat can
defeat hostile forces long before they can
pose a serious threat! The Tomcat also
carries a wide range of ordinance
including: Sidewinder, Sparrow, AMRAAM,
and ASRAAM missiles. The Tomcat also employs
a 20MM M61A Vulcan Gatling style Cannon,
capable of unleashing 6000 rounds per minute (ouch!)
Tomcats also are the recon eyes of the fleet, utilizing
the TARPS pod. Many F-14's have been modified
as BOMBCAT's, able to deliver a variety of bombs
in addition to the air superiority role.
With all of this power, it is no wonder why the slogan
Anytime Baby is associated with the Tomcat.................................. ^^ note the TWO tails! ^^
